On Thursday, the friends and family of Woodle gathered to remember him. Woodle died during a Navy SEAL diving training exercise.

Woodle was remembered for his gentle personality despite his huge frame and his zest for life.
The 26-year old was doing his morning diving training on Wednesday near Key West in Florida when one of his fellow SEAL members noticed that he’s no longer around.

Woodle was found unconscious with the on site team trying to resuscitate him. He was immediately taken to Lower Keys Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Navy is currently investigating the incident.

Naval Special Warfare Group 2 Commander Capt. Colin Kilrain said that Woodle has been training to become an excellent operator, citing that he’s been dedicated to the SEAL ethos.
