Pink is considered to be a very light shade of red but it has its own characteristics, some appealing and others negative. Colourful swimwear is a popular choice for beach holidays, a pink swimsuit can complement the sun kissed look.

It is a sympathetic colour and can elicit a certain reaction in different settings.  For example, at work a neutral suit in black, navy, grey or taupe has an austere business look, but paired with a soft pink shirt or top then the overall effect is more tranquil.

A cool pink T-shirt in powder pink, pastel pink, rose pink or a deeper rose will look feminine and gentle.  An icy pink top does not give out the message of coldness, rather it notifies the onlooker that the wearer is very much alive, clear-thinking and level-headed.

A printed shirt monopolised by pink will look non-threatening and accessible, but unfortunately may not instil confidence in an employer who is looking to employ a hard-headed manger.

Some women positively glow in pinks.  However, it is best to remember that, for instance, a cardigan in a block raspberry pink colour may be too overpowering.  To counter this negative attribute it is best to add blends of other colours in a top underneath, such as a combination of mauve, medium blue or rose brown.

Nevertheless, pink is an elegant colour and looks graceful and gracious.   A blue-pink jacket with paler top is aesthetically pleasing.
